Review for Single Parents MingleYo,
I don't like to be someone who just throws out compliant after complaint about my situation as a single father but single parenting is a tough act. I dare anyone to review one of my typical days and not conclude that the workload is overwhelming. I know that the TV sitcoms make life as a single dad seem funny and cute, but I'll be honest....it isn't. And dating? I have so little time to myself that I had pretty much concluded that I was happier sitting in front of a good ball game with a can of beer and some pizza than trying One More Time to dress up, make good conversation and act interested in someone else's problems.
My friend sent me some reviews of Internet dating sites and I just laughed. But shortly after that I came across the link to the Single Parents Mingle matchmaking site and it was like the penny dropped. I felt that, here, I would feel comfortable. This is a site where the other members are in the same boat as I. We can share complaints, problems and frustrations without feeling embarrassed.
My only question was -- who are the women? Single moms....are they bitter? Angry at men? Fat? Are they going to talk about their kids all night? Are they going to talk about their lousy exes all night?
Turns out that an internet site for single parents is the best idea since peanut butter met jam. I was able to communicate with several interesting women and we found plenty to talk about that had nothing to do with our offspring. Once we did meet, however, it was actually a relief to speak openly about the trials and tribulations of raising kids as a single parent. I've had nothing but good experiences since I joined Single Parents Mingle and would recommend it to other single parents wholeheartedly.
